ACTION FOR RABBITS

WHY ACTION FOR RABBITS
Helping rabbits live better lives
peter rabbitjasper and pandora
Welcome to Action for Rabbits - join the bunny huggers, the name that is given to people who care for animals by those who care nothing! Well, I am proud to be a bunny hugger, after all I have a lot of bunnies to hug!

The above is a picture of Jasper and Pandora who have found love together after coming to Small Corner Animal Sanctuary. Their lives before were miserable, they were confined to hutches with no company and in Jasper's case with no shelter from the elements. His hutch was completely open with no sleeping compartment and he just sat in the wet straw day after day, it is a miracle he survived. Pandora was found to have a mummified foetus in her womb, she had been used as a breeding rabbit. If we had not had her spayed she could have died from the infection.

Unfortunately, these are not isolated cases. Rabbits are one of the most neglected pets and need friends to help them. The aims of Action for Rabbits are:-

1. Stop rabbits being sold in pet shops like toys

2. Stop the sale of small hutches

3. Educate people about how to look after rabbits

4. Campaign against the fur and meat trade in rabbits

5. Persuade everyone to neuter their rabbits

6. Raise funds for Small Corner sanctuary for veterinary costs,
including neutering and vaccinations.

7. Campaign against rabbits and all animals being used in vivisection.

PETER RABBIT
prabbit
Action for Rabbits is dedicated to the memory of Peter Rabbit who passed over the rainbow bridge on 3rd May 2004.

Peter was a victim of the pet trade, unwanted and due to return to the breeder to be killed. At his 11th hour he came to live with me and for 6 years was the most wonderful affectionate friend. He taught me so much, he was my inspiration, and all I now do for rabbits is in his honour.

May compassion and love reign upon the earth for all rabbits everywhere.
